Yes, the Hogwarts Exists!

In our lives there comes a time when we are presented with an opportunity to board a train from platform 9 ¾ King’s Cross Station to Hogsmeade.  This train represents our will to seek the truth and understand our existence. It is our existential crisis. Some of us adjust ourselves as per the roles assigned while others venture out to question. The platform was only accessible to those who questioned. The train was bound for Hogwarts- ‘Yes the Hogwarts Exist’. For I took the train in 2015. The train took me away from my sense of being into the realm of ideas. Magic is ‘the ability to think’.  The best part is the fascination is all yours.

However, it was not altogether similar the Headmaster was not Dumbledore. In my Hogwarts the Headmaster was initially Marx who was replaced later by Gandhi. But as you would have guessed I wasn’t ‘Harry Potter’. Harry Potter was a symbol like a mark on his head and it represented resistance. So, if there is Harry Potter there will always be Voldemort. Voldemort represented institutional violence, repression and dominance. As in the books this Voldemort had innumerable Horcrux and it was immortal. But so was Harry Potter, the resistance against violence. Thus, Hogwarts was a place where both existed. The realm of ideas is free from biases as they are immune from defects. It is only when these are put into action, they attract criticism.

Voldemort is the idea of enslaving ‘Muggles’. Muggles are those who never had the privileged to dwell onto Ideas or were not nurtured to think. They were the marginalized groups who were under a hegemonic presence of Voldemort. The Muggles would never question Voldemort for they are not aware of their entitlements. The resistance posed by Harry Potter was the only threat to Voldemort and the source of resistance was Hogwarts. Voldemorts of all sorts, always go on to destroy Hogwarts but they never succeed. They fail every time; they fall and with them falls their violence and oppression.

The world had and will have many Voldemorts but eventually they die and the power they took from the Muggles returns to them. So, as long as there is Hogwarts there will be many Harry Potter.
